Ed Snyder

d. July 24, 2005

Athens - Ed Snyder, 79, died Sunday, July 24, 2005 at Redmond Regional Hospital in Rome, GA. He was the eldest son of the late Sam and Louise Snyder and the husband of Mary Snyder. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dan and Herbert. A member for many years of numerous civic and church organizations, he was recently honored with the Georgia Lions Outstanding Deaf Award for the State of Georgia. Although he received numerous awards and recognitions during his lifetime, this was his most meaningful, because of his hearing impairment. Ed's long career included radio broadcasting and working with the hearing impaired. In his later life, he came to understand his identity in Christ. He always commented that if he had known how wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren were, he would have had them first.
He was a much loved and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 PM, Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at Lord and Stephens, WEST in Bogart with the funeral service immediately following in the chapel. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lions and members of the Word Bearers Sunday School Class.
