Bogart - Dr. Edgar Joe Leverett, Jr., 79, died August 7, 2007.
Born in Waurika, Okla., he was the son of the late Edgar Joe, Sr. and Beatrice Estes Leverett. Dr. Leverett received his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma, his masters from North Texas State and his PhD from Indiana University. He was employed with and retired from The University of Georgia, where he built the Department of Risk Management and Insurance. Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Leverett was a published author, public speaker and consultant to corporate America. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Japan during post World War II reconstruction and was a faithful member of Grace Fellowship.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, WEST, with Pastor Tony Vismor and Dr. David Cooper officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Bobby Leverett; children, LuAnn and Randy Holland of Lilburn, Jerry and Camille Leverett of Marietta and Nancy and Wayne Stanford of Flower Mound, Texas; grandchildren, Ashley Holland, Amy Edwards, Jay Leverett, Mary Claire Leverett, Lauren Stanford and Catherine Stanford; siblings, Dr. Cary Leverett of New Braunfels, Texas, Elizabeth Miller of Wichata Falls, Texas, and Dodi Brown of Ft. Worth, Texas.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
