Athens, GA - Dycie Hancock Schneider, 90, passed away June 12, 2008.
A native and lifelong resident of Clarke County, she was a daughter of the late Mary Emily Nelms and Robert David Hancock, and was the widow of Charles V. Schneider. She was a devoted member of Tuckston United Methodist Church where she was active in the Co-workers Sunday School Class. Mrs. Schneider will be remembered as a beloved step-mother, aunt, teacher and friend.
Funeral services will be Sunday, June 15, 2008, at 3:00 PM at Tuckston United Methodist Church with Dr. Sheila Bookout and Rev. Herb Owen officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Jacquelyn S. (Ray) Kinder of Hendersonville, NC, and Joy S. (Ronnie) Wooden of Lebanon, TN; nephew, Robert (Susan) Hancock of Bishop; niece, Jacquelyn (Richard) House of Wilmington, NC, and niece, Mary Hancock of Athens. Also surviving are nieces and nephews: Martha Hewell, Hilda Hancock, Agnes Dial, Lois Bryant, Mary McGowan, Billie Waters, David Allen, Ricky Allen, Lawrence Hancock, and George Patton; and many other great nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
