Dyanne Mathews Mize

Dyanne Mathews Mize, 62, went to meet the Lord on Friday, February 18, 2011. A native of Oglethorpe County, GA she was a daughter of the late Walter R. and Ernestine Faust Mathews and was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles E. Mathews and W. Howard Mathews. Mrs. Mize was a graduate of Oglethorpe County High School and the University of Georgia. She taught school in Elbert and Clarke Counties for many years. She was a longtime active member of Winterville First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. A Memorial service will be held Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Winterville First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Ronald E. Mize; three children, Karen (Richard) Mathews of Hull, Tina (Chris) Summers of Watkinsville, Terri (John) Sartain of Hull; sister, LynAnne Mathews of Lake Ann, Michigan; brother, Alvin (Ellen) Mathews of Lexington; five grandchildren, Katie, Lindsey, Kyle, Jacob and Tyler; great grandchild, Bentley; and many other extended family members. In lieu of visitation hours, a celebration of her life will be held Saturday from 3:00 until 6:00 pm at her home. Flowers are optional. Memorial donations may be made to Winterville First Baptist Church. Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
