Dr. Grant Perry Carmichael

Dr. Grant Perry Carmichael went to his eternal rest with the Lord on Tuesday, August 17, at the age of 93. Born in Madison, Georgia, as a young man he left a working dairy farm to attend medical school in Augusta. After graduation he became a physician specializing in general medicine. After retiring at age 74, he pursued his interest in gardening and taught Sunday school for many years. Dr. Carmichael was a steadfast and resourceful individual, serving his country during WWII and providing for his family. He is survived by his five children, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and two brothers and two sisters. We will gather to celebrate his well-lived life on Sunday, August 22, at 4:00 PM at the Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, 1211 Jimmy Daniel Road, Watkinsville, GA. The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of memorial contributions to Briarwood Baptist Church, Watkinsville, GA.
