Dr. Charles Hugh Stammer

Charles Hugh Stammer, 88, passed away August 7, 2013. A native of Indianapolis, IN, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, in 2006.
Dr. Stammer, Professor Emeritus of Chemistry at the University of Georgia, retired after twenty-eight years of teaching and research. He was a veteran of the United States Army with honorable service during World War II. He was captured as a Prisoner of War for which he received the Purple Heart.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, David Stammer and Julia King of Dallas, TX and daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Blaine Osborn of Athens, GA.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 10, 2013 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at Lord and Stephens, WEST, 1211 Jimmy Daniel Road, Bogart, GA 30622.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or a charity of your choice.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
