Doyle Murray

Doyle Murray, 73, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010. A native of Madison County, he was the son of the late Carlton and Thelma McElroy Murray and the husband of Fredda Gillen Murray. Mr. Murray was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Eleanor Sexton Murray. He retired from the University of Georgia and was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2010, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home WEST with the Rev. Mike Sarrat officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors in addition to his wife include children and spouse, Danny W. Mary Anne Murray, Linda and Mark Dunbar; five grandchildren, Danny Joe (Lisa) Murray, Jessica Dunbar, Randy Murray, Andy Murray, Heather Dunbar and eight grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Dale Green and his staff and to Odyssey Hospice-Healthcare.
Memorial may be made to Mars Hill Baptist Church Bus Fund.
