Rincon - Douglas Randall Venable, 60, formerly of Oglethorpe County, died Thursday, May 11, 2006 at his residence.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Summie Robert Venable and Rudene Bellamy Hicks of Crawford. He had attended Springs of Life Church, Arnoldsville. He had worked at Seaboard Farms.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his children Patricia Venable of Ricon, GA, Steven Venable of Ricon, GA, and Sonny Venable of Carnesville, GA, sisters; Patricia Copeland of Greenville, SC, Brenda Venable of Arnoldsville, GA, brother, Walter Venable of Athens, GA and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 2PM, Sunday, May 14, 2006 at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Vaughn Howington, Jr. officiating. Pallbearers were Jim Copeland, Calvin Bradberry, Jeff Hart, Pete Dills, Mark Reeves and Waymon Hollis. Burial will be held at Attica Baptist Church Cemetery.
