Lexington, GA - Douglas Kent Leggett, Sr., died Thursday, September 10, 2009 at his residence.
Born in Keokuk, Iowa, he was the son of the late Wayne Emil & Norma Glassford Leggett. Mr. Leggett was the owner of Leggett Horseshoeing for 13 years and served his country in the US Army. He was a lay soccer coach at the Oglethorpe County Middle School, was an active supporter of the Band Booster and Athletic Booster Clubs and was a substitute school bus drive for the Oglethorpe County Schools.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Sharon Lane Cruise Leggett, children: Leah Renee Donahue of Kansas City, MO, Douglas Kent Leggett, Jr. of Arlington, TX, Calvin Wayne Leggett and Shelby Lane Leggett both of Lexington; sisters and brothers: Linda Gisbon, Patti Frye, Dennis Leggett, Mike Leggett and Brent Leggett; Five grandchildren: Jacob & Madison Donahue and Haley, Conner, and Rhiannon Leggett.
A memorial services will be held Monday, September 14, 2009 at 5PM at Oglethorpe County High School Gymnasium with Mr. Terry Kenny officiating. Family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Oglethorpe County Band Booster Club 749 Athens Road, Lexington, GA 30648.
