Dorothy "Jane" Bush West, 81, of Athens, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, May 26th, 2015.
Born in Nashville, Tennessee on April 1st, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Bush. A graduate of Berry College and Bradenton College School of Nursing, she was a registered nurse who worked with developmentally disabled children and adults before retiring from her job at the Advantage Behavioral Health Services in 2002.
She was an active quilter, prize-winning basket maker and, in her later years, specialized in buying and selling antiques out of her booth at the Weekend A'Fair Antique Mall.
Preceded in death by her daughter Melanie West, she is survived by her children Roxanne Cook, Gwin Kerce, Andrea Gregory, Gregory West, grandchildren, Rachel & Beau Cook, Grace Coffee, Nathan Kerce, Mark & Matthew Eulitt, Megan & Ian West, and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her three siblings, Joyce Harper, Herbert Bush and Tyne Bush.
Memorial service will be held at Sandy Creek Park, in the pavilion, on June 12th at 2:00 PM. Casual dress. Sandy Creek Park is located at 400 Bob Holman Rd, Athens, GA.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers please make donations to Sandy Creek Park. Proceeds from donations will all go to fund 'Bobby's Garden'.
