Athens, GA - Dorothy Harvey Speck, 86, died Monday, August 17, 2009.
Dorothy, a native of Illinois, lived the past 48 years in Athens. She was the wife of the late Stephen Speck. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Dorothy worked for Follow Through at the University and was a Red Cross Volunteer and a member of the Loran Smith Pink Ribbon Team.
Memorial services will be at Covenant Presbyterian Church on Sunday, August 23 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Mark Harper will officiate.
Survivors include her daughters, Marcia McDonald and Ellen Stoll, both of Athens; Anne Lee of Sylvania; seven grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, Loran Smith Cancer Center, or St. Mary's Hospice House.
The family will receive visitors at the residence on Saturday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 PM.
