Colbert - Dorothy Palmer Morris, died August 18, 2009.
Born in Hall County, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Annie Wade Palmer and was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers and by her husband of 56 years, Hobson G. Morris. Mrs. Morris was retired from Westclox and was a member of Colbert Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 20, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Lord and Stephens Chapel, Danielsville, with Rev. Nathan Palmer officiating. Interment will be in Colbert Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be staff of Alzheimer's Care of Commerce.
Survivors include her children, Malinda Sartain (Mitchell) of Colbert, Fay Sims (Jack) of Gillsville, Ronnie Morris (Janet) of Colbert and Mike Morris (Jean) of Carlton; sister, Flora Brown of Colbert; brother, W.E. "Bill" Palmer of Comer; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will also be at the residence of Malinda and Mitchell Sartain, 557 Charlie Morris Road, Colbert, GA 30628.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Care of Commerce, 200 Bolton Drive, Commerce, GA 30529.
