Athens - Dorothy M. Moore, 83, wife of R. Vernon Moore, Sr., died March 2, 2006 at her residence.
Born in Charleston, SC, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Josephine Roessler Mann. Dorothy was a 1943 graduate of the College of Charleston and received her masters from the University of Missouri in 1967. Dorothy worked as a Statistician for the Heart Disease Control Program with the US Public Health Service. She was a member of St. Gregory the Great Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her husband, children; Robert V. Moore, Jr., of Cookeville, TN, William C. Moore, III of Charleston, SC, Barbara Moore Powell of Fullerton, CA, brother, Harold Mann of Atlanta, GA, five surviving grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 10AM, Saturday, March 4, 2006 at St. Gregory the Great Episcopal Church with the Revered P. J. Woodall officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Gregory the Great Episcopal Church, Building Fund, Athens, GA.
