Dorothy Lavender Moon

Athens, GA - Dorothy Lavender Moon, 88, died March 8, 2011. Born in Athens, GA, she was a daughter of the late Lee Roy and Georgia Lavender. She was a member of Colbert Baptist Church. She had served as the secretary to the Executive Director of the United Methodist Commission on Higher Education. She was also a member of the DAR.
She was married to John Loy Moon (deceased) for 66 years. Survivors include son, John Larry Moon and wife Linda Moon and their sons, Charlie Moon and Chad Moon; son, O. Lee Moon and wife Debbie Moon and their daughters, Lori Moon and Erin Moon Dobbs (Matt).
Graveside funeral services will be Friday, March 11, 2011 at 11:00am at Old Fork Cemetery in Carlton, GA, with Chaplain Maitland LaForce officiating. Visitation will be held at Lord and Stephens, EAST, Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
