Augusta - Dorothy "Dot" Martin, 79, wife of the late William G. Martin, died Sunday, December 9, 2007 at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, GA.
Born in Banks County and a native of Athens, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mamie Bell Lazenby Carson. Dot retired from Athens Clarke County Police Department. She was a member of East Athens Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters and sons in law: Patsy Martin Thrasher and Mike of Huntsville, AL, Kathy Martin McVeigh and Roy of Augusta, GA; grandchildren: Scott Roberts of Colbert, Robin Land of Ocoee, FL, Ross McVeigh of Augusta; three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alzheimerís Association.
