Arnoldsville - Dorothy Nell Butler, 85, wife of Rufus E. Butler, died Saturday, November 5, 2005 in Athens.
Born in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Elijah Norman ìBootieî and Sletie Jones Guest. She was a member of Temple United Methodist Church. She retired as a sergeant from the Athens Police Department and was an active member of the Amvets Post Auxiliary. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Annette Hansford and Christine Nelson.
Survivors include her husband, daughters; Delores Terry Scoggins of Elberton and Gloria Butler Brown of Royston, brothers; Jake Guest of Athens and Wiliford ìBuddyî Guest of Hull, five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at 11AM at Temple United Methodist Church Cemetery with Revs. Kenneth Rosser and Albert Askew officiating. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be William Wilson, Wayne Wilson, James Wilson, Eric Wilson, Wesley White and Drew Scoggins.
Flowers will be accepted.
