Doris G. Winn

Doris G. Winn, 90, died January 8, 2025. 

Born in Oglethorpe County, Doris was a daughter of the late Mary Jane Smith and W. S. Gunter and was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, Emmett R. Winn. She was also preceded in death by a son, Greg Winn. Doris lived in the Athens area most of her life. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Green Acres Baptist Church. 

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST. Interment will follow at Carlton Cemetery. 

Survivors include three children, Melanie (Rusty) Savage of Watkinsville, Roxanne (Malcolm) Myers of Ila and Steve (Brenda) Winn of Arnoldsville; daughter-in-law, Vicki Winn of Jefferson; sister, Carolyn McIntosh of Elberton; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. 

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
