Doris Powell Weaver

Doris Powell Weaver, 78, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012.

A native of Hartwell, she was the daughter of the late Cleo and Mae Hubbard Powell. Doris was the wife of 54 years to the late Clinton L. Weaver and was also preceded in death by her sisters and brother: Hazel Mackey, Hermie Crump and Gene "Bud" Powell. She retired from Westclox/General Time and was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law: Scott (Tami) Weaver of Bishop; daughter: Rhonda Weaver Canerday of Watkinsville; sisters: Elizabeth "Liggy" Bryant, Margaret Powell Frye; grandchildren: Jennifer Weaver (Victor) Palestina, Jessica (Tyler McClure) Canerday, Cody Canerday, Hannah Canerday and Clinton Weaver; great grandchildren: Kevin Palestina, Katheryn Palestina and Hudson McClure; lifelong friends: Jack and Lenora Rogers, Linda Seabolt, Frances Dean, Celia Sanders, Diane Brewer and Sammie Sue Browning.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel with Rev. Frank Johnson and Pastor Jeff Bishop officiating. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jeff Bishop, Al Crump, Carlton Windsor, Clinton Weaver, Phil Bryant and Bob Frye. Honorary pallbearers will be the Wednesday Morning Bible Study Group.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 16, 2012 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethabara Baptist Church, 4651 Monroe Highway , Statham, GA 30666.
