Doris Strickland

Athens - Doris Strickland, 80, of Athens, died April 8, 2011. A lifelong resident of this area, she attended Prince Avenue Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Monday, April 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, West, with Rev. Ray Finger officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include two sons, Philip Johnson of Statham and Larry Johnson of Snellville; three sisters, Faye Bower of Cleveland, Ga., Martha Reynolds and Frances Saunders, both of Winder; two grandchildren, Darryl Johnson of Macon and Megan Johnson of Athens; longtime companion, Virgil Harper. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Lord and Stephens, West, is in charge of arrangements.
