Doris G. Shell, 84, died June 13, 2006.
A native of Athens, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Rob and Ruby Beard Hughes. She was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Hughes, her son, Raymond Bruce Keigwin and her husband, William L. Shell. . Mrs. Shell was a longtime resident of Madison County, where she served as Chief Magistrate. She was a member of Pleasant Grove and Joy Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 15, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, Danielsville with Rev. Barry Black officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include a sister, Edna Lois Watson; sister-in-law, Roma Hughes; nieces, Veda James, Liz Copenhaver, and Sheila Alva; 1 nephew, Robert Hughes; 3 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
