Doris Annette (Ramey) Saxon

March 4, 1943 — September 8, 2017

Mrs. Doris R. Saxon, 74, died September 8, 2017.

A native of Clayton, GA, she was a daughter of the late Henry A. and Ophelia H. Ramey. She was also preceded in death by a son, Eddie Frank Saxon, III and a sister, Linda Marie Harris.

Mrs. Saxon retired from Westinghouse/ABB as a quality control specialist after twenty-seven years. She enjoyed crafts, working in her yard and going to the mountains with her husband and other couples over the last fifty-five years. One of her favorite things to do was traveling and eating out with friends on Friday nights. She especially enjoyed her grandkids, nieces, nephews and adopted grandkids. She was a member of Winterville United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 4:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Community Church Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-six years, Eddie Frank Saxon (married July 1, 1962); daughter, Rochelle Patrick (Bruce) Pressley; adopted children, Joey Harvey and Jessie Ann Harvey; sister, Sandra C. Patrick; grandchildren, Hannah N. Patrick, Dustin J. Patrick; adopted grandchildren, Jarrett Harvey, Jainey Harvey, Jacen Harvey, Jenna Harvey, William H. Pressley and Travis J. Pressley; sisters-in-law, Mildred R. Burt, Mary K. Adkins and Erma Jean (Harold) Nation.
Pallbearers are: Dustin Patrick, Bruce Pressley, William Pressley, James Patrick, Jeffery Adkins, Dwight Eberhart, Maurice Williams and Charley Bernard.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
