Doris Sylvia (Prior) Rusgrove

Doris Sylvia Rusgrove, 98, wife of the late Lloyd Rusgrove, died Monday, December 7, 2020. Born in Friendship, ME, she was the daughter of the late Crosby Prior and Ruth Carter Prior. Doris moved to the Athens area in 1967.  Prior to moving to Georgia she worked for the State of Maine Motor Vehicle Department and following her move she worked and retired from the University of Georgia as a Librarians Assistant.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son: Thurlow Rusgrove; brother: Edwin T. Prior; sister: Blanche P. Fulleiton and Thelma Overlock; great granddaughter: Isabelle Bramlett; step sons: Floyd Rusgrove, Everett Rusgrove, Arthur Rusgrove; step grandchildren: Everett Rusgrove, Jr., Virginia Rusgrove, Ramona Rock, Amanda Gillespie, Russell Rusgrove; son in law: Paul Brann.

Survivors include her children; Ruthanne Brann of ME; Armand (Betty) Rusgrove of FL, Ethel (Tim) Bramlett of Winterville, Lewis (Lorrie) Rusgrove of Watkinsville; step children: Charles Rusgrove of AL, Alfred (Cecilia) Rusgrove of SC, Robert Rusgrove of OK, Edwin (Valarie) Rusgrove of TX; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, 30 step grandchildren, 69  great step grandchildren and 62 great great step grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 11, 2020 at 11AM at Winterville First Baptist Church with Revs. Phil Wages and Randy Crowe officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in Maine. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 at Lord and Stephens East Chapel on Thursday.
