Doris Edna Medders, 90, of Crawford, GA, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Quiet Oaks Retirement Home. Born in Glascock County, GA on October 20, 1920, she was the eldest daughter of the late Edward and Alma May Phillips of Gibson, GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Grady E. Medders of Sylvester, GA; her brother, Ray Phillips of Gibson, GA; and her sister, Hazel Barnes of Thomson, GA.
Mrs. Medders spent most of her life in Worth County, Sylvester, GA and has resided the past twenty-two years in Crawford, GA. She was a member of Crawford Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.
Graveside services will be Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 11:30 AM at Arnoldsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Medders Creech and husband, David of Morristown, TN; son, Dwight Medders and wife, Penney of Crawford, GA; two granddaughters, Audra M. Doyle and husband, Patrick, and Shelley M. Parsons and husband, Brandon; two great-grandchildren, Darcy Elaine and John Maclane; many nieces and nephews.
