Doris Allene Harris died at her daughter's home in Athens, GA on May 27, 2011.
She was born on December 7, 1916 to John and Virginia Gibson in Browning, Missouri.
Allene was 94 at her passing.
Allene was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and had resided in Missouri until the passing
of her husband, Mr. J.O. Harris, in 2001. She consequently moved to Athens, GA to be near her daughter,
Mrs. Mary Ann Paten. She is survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Allene was an avid sports fan until the very end. As long as she was physically able, she attended all games
and events in person. Later, she continued to follow her beloved Missouri Tigers on television.
Cremation was handled by Lord and Stephens Funeral Homes. (www.lordandstephens.com) Interment will be in Green City, Missouri.
