Doris Downs

Mrs. Doris Wells Downs, passed away on April 29, 2013. Mrs. Downs was born on December 21, 1920 to David S. and Ruby Pearl Zuber Wells in Atlanta, GA. She served her country with honor in the United States Army Women's Corps, working in the Pentagon during World War II. Upon her discharge from the Army she worked for 20 Years for what is now Bank Of America in the Trust and Tax Department. Mrs. Downs was a long time resident of Atlanta, after her retirement she moved to Bogart, GA. She was a member of Antioch Chruch, Community Christian formerly Westend Christian, and Bogart Christian.
She is preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by her sons and daughters in law; David J. and Jane Downs Jasper GA, and Durham M. and Jan Downs Clarkston MI; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; as well as several cousins and extended family.
The family will receive friends at Bogart Christian Church on Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 10 until 11. Funeral services will be held at 11 with the Revs. Allen Rogers and Ben Parker officiating. Interment will be held at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, GA at 3 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial donations be made to Bogart Christian Church.
