Doris Dawson

Doris Ann Dawson, 84, of Athens, died on Saturday, October 22, 2022.

Born in Banks County, GA to Ray B. Metcalf and Donnie Worley Metcalf, Doris was a homemaker and retired CNA. She loved flowers, working in the garden, and most of all, her family.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert “Larry” Dawson, and brother Roy Lee Metcalf.

She is survived by her son, Wesley Tiller (Rita Tiller); grandson Thomas Tiller; sister Bonnie Hanley (Ralph Ike Hanley); and brother Herbert Metcalf.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 25 at Lord and Stephens, East at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Zach Hawks officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at the Old Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery on Harve Mathis Rd. in Athens.
