Donnie Wayne Hewell, 56, died Monday, March 5, 2012.
Born in Athens, he was the son of the late James Frank and Louise Fowler Hewell. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Franklin, Dean and Darwin Hewell. Donnie had worked for North East Sales and Pilgrim's Pride. He was a member of Faith Pentecostal Church and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Freda Burgess Hewell; daughters: Tammy Carver of Danielsville, Donna Taylor of Oglethorpe; brothers: Ricky Hewell and Jeffery Hewell, Sr.; sisters: Patsy Albert and Marie Noel; grandchildren: Ashley Dellinger, Amber Dellinger, Destinie Taylor, Brian Dellinger, Jr., Breanna Taylor and Emily Carver.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Billy Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at Athens Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Tyrone Taylor, Paul Prince, Doug Carver, Jeffery Hewell, Jr., Preston Booth, Chris McClain and Jeffery Hewell, Sr. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
