Donna W Jones

Donna W. Jones passed away peacefully on Friday, June 4, 2021, in her home in Watkinsville, GA under the care of her loving husband. She was born on January 11, 1946, in Swansea, SC. The daughter of H.B. Williams, Jr. and Elizabeth “Tib” Williams she was a 1964 graduate of Swansea High School and earned her degree in education from Newberry College in 1968. She was a dedicated elementary school teacher for 38 years and a devoted wife and mother. Her grandchildren were the pride of her life and she enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them. Donna lived her faith in the love and kindness that she gave to everyone that knew her. She was preceded in death by her father H.B. Jr., and her brother Venson. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Billy, her son Heath (Jeanine), grandchildren Abigail and William, mother “Tib”, brother Benny, and sister Beth. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 7, 2021, at Briarwood Baptist Church, 1900 Robinhood Rd., Watkinsville, GA. The Rev. Dan Fuller will officiate with past and present members of the Briarwood “Messengers” Sunday School class serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church before the service begins. The Jones family would like to extend our gratitude to all of the staff of St. Mary’s Hospice Care for their support and loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Donna’s name to the Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support or donate some time to be a St. Mary’s Hospice Care volunteer.
