Donald Gordon (Don) Scott

Donald Gordon Scott, 79, died November 25, 2011.
A native of Birmingham, AL, he retired from the United States Navy after thirty years. He spent most of that time on aircraft carriers as a maintenance officer for aircraft and served during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. Mr. Scott also retired from Lockheed Martin, where he was a C130 Specialist. He was an avid golfer at Creekside, Jennings Mill and Port Armour Golfing Clubs.
Memorial services will Friday, December 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST with Rev. Jeff Wells officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia "Ginny" Scott; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Ann Smith of Athens; daughter, Patricia Smith of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Jenna Fairbanks, Emily Smith and Katie Smith.
The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 AM until service time.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
