Donald Wood Marchildon

Donald Wood Marchildon, 84, of Athens, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on October 25, 2021.  The son of the late Lester C. and the late Virginia Marchildon was born in Thebes, Illinois and  grew up in Cairo, Illinois.  The deceased was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ellen Ruth Marchildon and is survived by his daughter Bonnie Roberts (Craig), son Wayne Marchildon, (Jo), daughter Julia Nasworthy, (Jimmy) and son Daniel Marchildon, (Monica),  four grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.  He is also survived by his sisters CarolAnn Harvell and Charlotte Jackson.  Donald Marchildon served in the U.S. Army and in GA National Guard.  He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and served as an ordained deacon of the Catholic Church at St. Joseph’s Parish in Athens, GA. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 8, 2021 at 8:30AM at St. Joseph’s Parish in Athens GA.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St Joseph Charities 535 Hawthorne Ave, Athens, GA 30606.
