Donald Preston Day

Donald Preston Day, 78, husband of Faye Day, died Saturday, January 27, 2018. Born in Augusta, GA, he was the son of the late V R Day and Lois Sorrow Day and father to the late Steven Randall Day. Mr. Day received his masters from the University of Georgia in Agronomy and retired as a Chemical Engineer from the Phosphate Industry. Following his retirement, he moved to Stephens, GA where he worked on his family farm. He was a member of Center United Methodist Church. Survivors in addition to his wife include two children: Sharon Elaine Coke and husband Jay Coke of Summerville, SC, James Allen Day of Stephens, GA and two granddaughters: Nicole Coke and Ashley Coke. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 4PM at Center Meeting House Preservation, formerly known as Center United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 3 until 4 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Center Meeting House Preservation, 27 Center Church Road, Stephens, GA 30667.
