Diann (Smith) Floyd

December 24, 1946 — June 7, 2017

Diann Smith Floyd, age 70, of Hull, Georgia, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 after a valiant fight against breast cancer. She was surrounded by her family and friends.

Born in Tampa, Florida on December 24, 1946, Diann was the daughter of the late William Edward and Christine Smith. Diann married her beloved husband, Wayne, on June, 11, 1966. They would have celebrated fifty-one years of marriage this Sunday.

After retiring from the United States Postal Service, Danielsville, Georgia, Diann enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her loved ones. Filled with hope and joy, Diann carried the presence of God and shared it with everyone she encountered. She embodied a true servant's heart and looked for ways to love others in everything she did. One of her favorite things to do was to host holiday celebrations for family and friends and to cook for everyone. Nothing filled her with joy more than bringing together those she loved best. Diann's favorite movie was The Sound of Music. Since grade school, she had dreamed of traveling to Austria. She and Wayne returned from this dream trip five days ago. Diann especially loved her grandson, Alex, and she was looking forward to a new grandbaby, Melissa Diann, who will be born later this summer.

Diann was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William E. "Eddie" Smith, Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne, her son Rob (Dale) Floyd, her daughter Angie (Paul) Wiggans, her grandson Alex Wiggans, her son Jordan (Tori) Floyd and her brother Carl "Ned" Smith.
