Delaine S. Holland

Athens - Delaine S. Holland, 90, passed away on June 10, 2007, in Athens, GA. She was born in Coal Hill, AR, the only child of the late Henry and Fanor Shamblin of Branson, MO. In 1942, she met James Edward Holland of Huntingdon, PA, while he was serving the Army at Camp Crowder, MO. They married in Bentonville, AR, on July 15, 1943, and enjoyed 60 years of marriage before Jim's death in 2005, living mostly in Houston, MO, and Columbia, MO. Delaine was a fourth generation Methodist and prior to moving her membership to Watkinsville First Methodist, she was a member of Missouri Methodist Church in Columbia. She is survived by two daughters, Marilynn Cary and her husband Richard Cary of Athens, GA, and Barbara Holland of Tualatin, OR, grandson Richard Holland Cary and his wife Liz, and granddaughter Margaret Cary. Burial will be at Ozarks Memorial Park in Branson. In lieu of flowers, any memorial gifts should be directed to Watkinsville First Methodist Church. Lord & Stephens, West is in charge of arrangements.
