Debra Elaine Wood Rhoden

December 17, 1961 — April 2, 2025

Daneilsville

Debra Elaine Wood Rhoden, 63, of Danielsville went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 2, 2025. She went peacefully in her sleep after her long health battle.

Debra was born on December 17, 1961, in Sumter, SC. She was the daughter of an Airforce and Navy Veteran, Charles Wood and his wife, Loretta Wood Tucker. She moved frequently as a child to military bases around the country. She eventually settled in Madison County with her husband, Stephen Rhoden. She was a loving wife, mother and Nena. She served many years as the church Financial Secretary for Colbert Baptist Church before retiring. She was a woman of faith, family, and flowers. She dearly loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed spending warm sunny days out in nature tending to her flowers garden as she was an expert gardener. She loved to dig in the dirt. She also hated shoes and socks and much preferred sinking her toes into the sand at the beach.

The family will receive friends Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville. Funeral Services will begin at 3:00 pm in the chapel followed by a graveside service at Meadow Baptist Church Cemetery.

Debra was one of five children. She married Stephen Rhoden in August 1981 and had two children, Rebecca (Jason) Wynn and Zach (Ashley) Rhoden and was blessed with 4 grandchildren, Thomas, Gibson, Wyatt and Addie. Other surviving members in addition to her mother, Loretta Wood (Rick) Tucker, include sister, Melissa (Bud) Tingle; brothers, Dennis (Kathy) Wood and Anthony (Michele) Wood; as well as brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Wood and sister, Donna Wood.

Pallbearers include Terry Scarborough, Tony Scarborough, Robert Dickerson, Jeremy Tingle, Jacob Holliman and David Rice.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in Debra’s honor to T.J. and Friends Foundation, PO Box 6161, Elberton, GA 30635.
