Debra Sue Ramsey Bugg, age 53, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her beloved family on Tuesday, October, 20. Debbie was born in Lexington, Virginia on January 29, 1962. In 1973 at age 11 Debbie moved to Athens, Georgia with her family. She was a 1980 graduate of Cedar Shoals High School and a 1984 graduate of the University of Georgia where she earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. Debbie was a devoted wife and loving daughter, mother and grandmother. She had a passion for teaching children and touched the lives of her students and many others at several schools including Gaines Elementary School in Athens, Georgia. She was an active member of Cornerstone Church where she taught children's Sunday School and Wednesday night Bible Studies. Through the years, she loved reading books, vacationing at the beach, cooking, painting and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are her husband of 33 years, Perry Lance Bugg, two daughters Amanda (Dusty) Reddick of Augusta and Ashley (Brandon) Brown of Athens; two grandchildren Ella and Evan Reddick; parents Donna and Sam Whitmore and Thomas (Gloria) Ramsey; grandmother Margaret Linton and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Cornerstone Church. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 23, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Cornerstone Church with Pastor Scott Sheppard officiating and Matt Rouse assisting.
Interment will follow at Tuckston United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chap Bugg, Chandler Bugg, Chance Bugg, Bradley Bugg, Brian Bugg, Joshua Bugg and Michael Walsh.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Cornerstone Church, 4680 Lexington Road, Athens, GA 30605.
