David Leon Walker, 73, (known as Leon to close family and friends) passed on to reunite with his parents, Lawrence and Neoma (Cook) Walker, and his Sister Diana L (Walker) Koch on Sunday evening December 16, 2012.
Born December 7, 1939, in Cobden, IL, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and was loved dearly by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Doris (Fulkerson) Walker, three children Debra (Walker) Burns (Jeffrey), David Walker (Sharon), and Donna Walker; two grandsons, Benjamin and Matthew Walker (all from the Atlanta Georgia area); and niece Christi (Whitworth) Dorrington (Ben) of Collinsville, IL.
He retired after 30 years of employment at Norfolk Southern Railway. Prior to relocating to Commerce almost 12 years ago, he primarily lived in Fenton, MO and Virginia Beach Va. He was of the Christian faith; a member of Mended Hearts in Commerce and was a computer enthusiast .
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
