High Shoals - David Stone, 76, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2008.
A native of Morgan County, he was the son of the late W.C. and Jessie Bell Griffeth Stone and the husband of Carolyn Thomas Stone. A brother, Ned Stone, preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran; retired from the U.S. Postal Service, farmed and raised livestock, was a UGA football fan, a member of High Shoals Methodist Church and most of all loved his family.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the Thomas Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Powers officiating.
Survivors in addition to his wife include; daughter and spouse, Diddie and Rodney Sheridan; son and spouse, Wayne and Judy Stone all of High Shoals; three sisters, Martha Biggs of Social Circle, Harriette Briscoe of Walnut Grove, Karen Powers of Watkinsville; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a special pet "Snug"
Pallbearers are Shayne Stone, Matt Stone, Wesley Peters, Ronnie Stone, Harry Willoughby and Danny Blalock.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Oconee Chapel Funeral Directors, Watkinsville, is in charge of arrangements.
