David W. Poelstra, 68, died August 5, 2014.
A native of Chicago, IL, he was son of Vivian Keen Carlough of LaBelle, FL and the late Donald Williams. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, with service during the Vietnam War. He was an active member of American Legion Post 123, Lexington, GA, where he was a past Commander. Mr. Poelstra was a member of the American Legion Riders and L.Z. Friendly.

Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Donna; children, David Eric (Robin) Poelstra of Ft. Sill, OK, and their three children Briana, Zachary and Kiara, William "Bill" Hendrick of Winterville, GA, Jennie Hendrick of Mableton, GA and her son, Carter, Jason Lambert of Huntsville, TX; twin sister, Martha Louise (Poelstra) Morris (husband Kenneth) of Taylorsville, GA and their children, Amy Katherine Bellerose (husband Barry) have 2 boys Zachary & Matthew of Putnam, CT; Kenneth Andrew Morris (wife Michele) have 1 son Bobby of Canton, MI; Holly Elizabeth Morris has 1 daughter Ashleigh of Taylorsville, GA; brother, Mark Douglas Poelstra of Worth, IL and his children, Jess Poelstra, Twins-Megan Poelstra and Annie Dow (Doug), One child Emmett, all in the Chicago, IL; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Robbin and Joel Besley of Winterville; mother-in-law, Shirley Marie Carter of Winterville.
