Athens - David C. Mathis, 52, died Thursday, April 6, 2006 at his residence.
Born in Athens, he was the son of the late J.C. Mathis and Louise Rhodes Mathis of Athens. He was a graduate of Clarke Central High School where he played Basketball and Baseball. David was the owner of Par Six Pest Control. He received his Undergraduate in Finance and his Masters in Public Administration from the University of Georgia. He was an avid Golfer and Bulldog Fan. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Abby Bell of Athens, mother, Louise Rhodes Mathis of Athens, grandson, Shawn Bell of Athens and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at 2PM at Evergreen Memorial Park with Rev. Morris Sapp officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, April 10, 2006 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial may be made to the American Red Cross, Disaster Relief.
