Athens - David Charles LeFrancois, 64, husband of Carolyn LeFrancois, died Friday, April 10, 2009 at his residence.
A native of Portland Maine, he was the son of the late Romeo and Blanche Eitapence LeFrancois. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elaine LeFrancois. David was a member of Beech Haven Baptist Church where he was a member of the Glory Coed Sunday School Class. He retired from the Civil Service as a Firefighter at the HAAF in Savannah, GA and served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his children; David "Chuck" (Stephanie W.) LeFrancois, II, Melissa (Timothy) Phillips, Laura (Dan) Yawn, Gina Kelley, Stephanie LeFrancois; sister: Dianne (John) Fisk; grandchildren: Amanda Wright, Shawn Wright, Jordan Edwards, Preston Edwards, Fallyn Wright and Hunter Beaver.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at Beech Haven Baptist Church with Dr. Stewart B. Simms officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the services at the church.
Pallbearers were Steve Cannon, John Fisk, Greg Garnto, Mike Hughes, V. Pat Skelly and Harold Van Buskirk. Honorary pallbearers will be Beech Haven Baptist Church Deacon Body, Glory Coed Sunday School Class, Patrick Lucas, M.D., Larry Medders, M.D., Whitney Seann, M.D. and Jeffery Thomas, M.D.
Graveside services will be held Monday, April 13, 2009 at 11AM at Satilla Baptist Church Cemetery, Baxley, GA.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Beech Haven Baptist Church, 2390 West Broad Street, Athens, GA 30606.
