Mr. David James Holland, 76, entered into rest on Wednesday,December 18, 2013 at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia.
David was born on February 14, 1937 in Marietta, Ohio. He lived his life in several states and overseas. He joined the United States Army on September 3, 1954 and retired as Chief Warrant Officer on September 30, 1974.

After retirement from the military, David worked for Munford Inc. for 2 years as a Certified Polygraph Examiner.
David then joined the City of Athens Police Department in August of 1976 as a Police Major where he commanded the Criminal Investigation Division and in 1991 served as Commander of various divisions when the City of Athens and Clarke County governments unified. David retired from the Department on March 1, 1996.
He was preceded in death by his Father Mallie Holland; Mother Virginia Holland; Daughter Patricia Elson; Grandson Corey Elson.
David is survived by his Brother John Holland (Sue); Daughter Ginny Carver (Alan); Son Rick Holland; Son Michael Holland; Daughter Victoria Dickinson (Rob); Daughter Pamela Sale (Ken); Son Alexander Holland (Christine). Grandchildren: Kristina (Lance); Jonathan; Christian (Kristen); Jenny; Zackary; Anthony; Cameron (Mint); Sarah; Joshua; Emily. Great Grandchildren: Aiden; Audrey; Landon; Aerith; Jasmine; Hayden; Kinlee; Kyler; Zoralee. Nephews: John Jr. (Lola); Robert; Shaun; Craig; Brian. Nieces: Theresa (Kim); Betsy

A Viewing Service for friends will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2013 between the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00 pm at Lord and Stephens East Chapel.The Memorial Service for family and friends will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at 3:00pm also located at Lord and Stephens East Chapel.
