David A. Garcia, 91, died March 20, 2014.
A native of San German, Puerto Rico, Mr. Garcia lived in the United States for seventy years. He spent twenty-six years in Orlando, FL before moving to the Athens area in 2010. He was a son of the late David Garcia and Josef's Ortiz and was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Gladys Martinez Garcia. Mr. Garcia was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 24, 2014 at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Athens Memory Gardens.
Survivors include two children, David A. Garcia, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL and Enid Costello Shannon of Conyers; two brothers, Luis David Garcia; sister, Lilly Garcia, both of Florida; four grandchildren, Carmine Costello, Jr., Mark (Kim) Costello, Daniel (Misty) Costello and Jaime (Lee) Hinsley; eight great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
