David Michael Epps, 57, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012.
Born in Commerce, GA, he was the son of the late G.B. Epps, Sr. and Sara Williams Epps. He was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church and also enjoyed fishing, working in the yard and antique cars. He was a long time employee at Millers, Big G and K-mart stores in the Athens area.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Carbie Epps, brothers and sisters: Lawrence Epps, Louise Minish (William), G.B. Epps, Jr., Joe Epps, Carol Glenn, Edward Epps (Brenda), several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other family members and his loving and loyal companion, Buffy and numerous other dogs.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 2, 2012 at 3PM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel with Rev. Buford Lockman officiating. Burial will follow at Oconee Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be James Snelling, Justin Epps, Daniel Lord, Matthew Lord, Aaron Lord, Desmond Lord, Kevin Hammond and Bobby Haley.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Oconee Animal Shelter, Oconee County Fire & Rescue or give a hug, visit a sick or homeless person or plant a tree in memory of David. He truly loved people and this is what he would have wanted.
