David "Dean" Elmore, 60, husband of the late Carolyn Drum “Carol” Elmore died Wednesday, November 7, 2018. Born in Statesville, North Carolina, Dean was the son of the late David Elmore and Shirlee Thronburg. Dean and Carol moved to the Watkinsville, GA area in 1987 where he worked for Smith Setzer and Sons Concrete Pipe Plant as Plant Manager. From 2004 until 2018 Dean was the scheduler and dispatcher for Oconee Waste Transport. He was a Civil War Buff, very active in politics and an avid race car fan and had driven the pace car at Gresham Speed Way.
He is survived by two step-children, Scott (Yong Hwa) Gryder and Jeff (Kelly) Gryder, grandson, Joshua Gryder, nieces, Kim (Allen) Rose, and Olivia Elmore, nephew, Ronnie Cline Jr., and great nieces Zoey Rose, Madelyn Rose, and Sophia Rose.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 12, 2018 at 4:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service and for one hour following the service at the funeral home.
