Dave Lee Ramsey Jr.

Dave Ramsey, 66, of Colbert Georgia died on August 19, 2023.  The son of the late Dave and June Ramsey.  Dave grew up in Granite City, Ill, lived and worked in Arkansas most of his life.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Ramsey.  He is survived by Kevin and Christa Ramsey (son/daughter-in-law), Stacy Ramsey (daughter), Jessica and Jason Hayes, (daughter and son-in-law), 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, Debbie and Frank Hochstetler (sister and brother-in-law), Lori and Jeff Bowen (sister and brother-in-law).

Dave fully enjoyed all the experiences of his life.  He was a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle. He never forgot a birthday; he was the first to send birthday wishes.  He did things out of his comfort zone for family events (sang at sister’s wedding and mom’s funeral).  He was a risk taker and dangerously fearless all his life.  He went sky diving at 60.  Little known facts:  He was a talented athlete and a gifted singer.

Dave served in the Navy.  He later found a profession he enjoyed, Respiratory Therapy, and served in that capacity for over 30 years.  Often working in the neonatal unit.  He loved babies!  Dave loved Arkansas Razorback football and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

Dave was a giver, even when he didn’t have to give.  He had a tender heart.

Dave was a member of Carlton Baptist church, Carlton GA where he found peace and comfort through the word of God and music.  The family finds comfort in knowing that Dave is now with Jesus.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday September 30th at Richard B Russell State Park, Elberton GA.
