Daulton Shane Kitchens, 18, passed away on November 27, 2016. He is the son of Anthony Shane Kitchens and Emma Chantill Tweedell, and the brother of Dylan Lewis Kitchens. He was a graduate of Oglethorpe County High School, class of 2016.
Daulton is survived by his grandmother Mildred McElroy and grandfather Roy Lee Kitchens, Aunt Heidi Tweedell, Uncles and Aunts Brad and Mica (Tweedell) Turner, Troy and Linda Kitchens, cousins Carson and Logan Turner and Courtney and Kyle Kitchens, along with many great aunts, great uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother Mary Anne Fleming, grandfather "Popper" Lewis Tweedell, and grandfather Tommy McElroy.
Daulton was employed at Batteries Plus in Athens and was to begin umpiring and refereeing for the Oglethorpe County Recreation Department this Spring. Fishing and playing softball were Daulton's favorite pastimes. During high school, he enjoyed playing all sports, particularly baseball, in which he was a first baseman. Daulton cherished his years spent with the East Athens Baptist Church youth group. Daulton is especially remembered for his gentle and kind spirit, and big giving heart. He was a true friend to everyone.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 3:00 pm at East Athens Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Arnoldsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 3 2016 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Christian McFalls, Dylan Kitchens, John Tucker, Timmy Dorsey, Austen Anderson, Nick Abney, Carson Turner, Logan Turner and Kyle Kitchens. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Turner, Stan Anderson, Donny Faust, Lee Fite, Allen Fleming, Troy Kitchens, Alan Erwin, Clint Tracy and Zach Newhard.
