Mr. Darrell George Duffell, 66, of Athens, passed away November 4, 2013.
Mr. Duffell was an Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Sunlight Baptist Church. Mr. Duffell was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Duffell; wife, Rebecca Clark Duffell; son, Mark Duffell; and two brothers, Lee Roy and Raymond Duffell.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Lord & Stephens, East Chapel with Rev. Joe Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Athens Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
Survivors include: sons, Matthew (Yana) Duffell and Michael (Ann) Duffell; sisters, Ruth Vaughn and Mary Roach; grandchildren, Alicia Manley, Ashley Manley and Adeline Elizabeth Alewine; and great-granddaughter, Emma Marie Pappy.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Sonlight Baptist Church Thanksgiving Fund in memory of Mr. Duffell.
