Darrell Dana Burnette

Darrell Dana Burnette, 77, died January 7, 2021 due to a head injury from a car accident.

Born in Macon County, NC, he was the son of the late Coolidge Austin Burnette and Edna Mae McConnell Burnette. Mr. Burnette was as an auto mechanic most of his life, owned his own radiator shop, retired from Peterson Springs as a maintenance supervisor and also worked for Madison County Schools.  He was a member of Tabernacle of the Lord in Townville, SC.

He lived a simple life.  He loved God, his family, his church and friends.  His life emulated what it was to have a heart for God.

Survivors include his two daughters: Sharon Burnette Smith (David) of Bogart, Marsha Burnette Hatch (Pete) of Bishop; brothers: Austin Burnette (Joyce) of Winterville and Michael Burnette (Linda-Deceased) of Athens and two grandsons: Jake Smith and Colton Smith of Bogart and nephew Jonathan Burnette of Athens.

Funeral service will be private.

The family will receive friends from 2-3pm, January 10, 2020 at Lord and Stephens East Chapel.
