Danny Gene Nix

Danny Gene Nix, 65, of Auburn, GA, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016.
Born and raised in Arcade, he was the son of the late Joe Nix and Martha Williams Nix. Danny was a graduate of Jefferson High School, where he wrestled and was on the track team. He joined the United States Army on November 25, 1968, where he served in the Vietnam War before being honorably discharged on November 8, 1971. Danny loved music, but most importantly, he loved his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Jeanette Aaron, Ethylene Duncan and Joyce Mize; and four brothers, Bobby Nix, Ralph Nix, Kenneth Nix and Willie Nix.
Survivors include one daughter, Dawn Nix Bates and her husband, Byron; one son, Danny Nix Jr. and his wife, Carla; one sister, Evelyn Hooper; six grandchildren, Ariel Boswell and her husband, Chad, Kyle Bates, Jared Bates, Dawson Bates, Kaydee Wyatt and Riley Nix; and two great-grandchildren, Paisley Mae Boswell and Hoyt Boswell.
A celebration of Danny's life will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Lord and Stephens, Danielsville. His grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
