Daniel Channing Moore, 39, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, died peacefully in his sleep on July 10, 2016. In addition to his grandparents, he is preceded in death by his mother, Gayle Beasley Moore, and Kada, his cherished dog companion. Daniel is survived by his father and stepmother, Gary and Martha Moore, Oxford, Georgia; brother, Bryan Moore, nephews, Quinn Moore and Isaiah Moore, niece, London Moore, Athens, Georgia; stepsister, Loren (Jeff) Bragg, Douglasville, Georgia, uncle, Kenneth Beasley, Warner Robins, Georgia and step uncle, Jack Roberts.
Born September 2, 1976, in Griffin, Georgia, Daniel moved to Athens with his family in 1978 and grew up in the Green Acres community. He attended Cedar Shoals High School, and graduated from Athens Academy. Daniel received the Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in General Business from Georgia College and State University, Milledgeville, Georgia, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Lambda-Xi Chapter. He was employed by Vankirk Electric in Winder, Georgia.
Daniel was loved by all who knew him, especially his nephews and niece, who affectionately called him "Edo". He was just another "kid" when they were together, most recently enjoying a "sleepover" at Edo's, with dinner at Mama Sid's and ice cream at Menchie's. One of his favorite pastimes was taking his Harley on rides through the mountains of North Georgia to clear his mind and soothe his soul. Daniel was an avid sports fan, from golf to soccer to MMA, and, of course, the University of Georgia Bulldogs. He loved music, particularly Chris Stapleton. There was nothing more important to Daniel than family and friends.
Gentle, kind, loyal and generous, Daniel is best remembered by the comments of his many friends: "Daniel was the TRUE meaning of a Southern Gentleman"; "He was always one of the most genuine people I knew. Always there for a good smile"; "a great friend, who always put everyone else first and was always there to help when help was needed"; "a great guy and a dedicated Dawg fan; always the first one to let me know that Ga. Tech sucked". "We wonder sometimes if our lives have meaning and make a difference. Daniel's did and will continue to. He will always live in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him and whose lives he touched."
